A winter holiday near Scuol, your way

A day on the slopes, skating through the forest together or coming back from a winter walk with rosy cheeks. There are plenty of ways to enjoy winter around Ramosch.

Motta Naluns ski area near Scuol is close by. But a sledge, cross-country skis or a good pair of walking boots will take you to lovely places too.

If one of you wants to ski while the other has different plans, head out your own way and come home to La Randulina together at the end of the day. There will be plenty to talk about by the fire.

Winter activities depend on snow and ice conditions.

Skating through the forests of Sur En

Skating between the trees, round a bend and into another stretch of forest. The Eisweg Engadin in Sur En is lovely to do together.

The ice trail winds for about 3 kilometres through the winter woods and along the Inn. Glide along, lend someone a hand or stop to look around. Even if the first few steps are a little wobbly, there is soon plenty of fun to share.

Then head back to Ramosch with cold cheeks and stories to tell. Our Stube is a lovely place to warm up.

Spring dipping

If you enjoy a cold surprise, there is spring dipping right outside our door.

No need to go far. Bring your swimming things and a towel, head outside together and first see just how cold that mountain water feels.

The first moment takes a little courage. A deep breath, a surprised look at each other and probably quite a lot of laughter.

Then dry off, put on warm clothes and warm up together. You can always stay on the side and cheer the others on.

FAQs about winter

What can we do if not everyone wants to ski?

That’s actually one of the strong points of a winter holiday in the Unterengadin. Besides skiing, you can go winter walking, sledging, snowshoeing or skating on the Eisweg Engadin in Sur En. That way everyone can plan their own day, and later you meet up again back in Ramosch.

How do I get from La Randulina to Motta Naluns?

From Ramosch you can get to Scuol by car or by public transport. The bus takes you to Scuol-Tarasp; the Motta Naluns valley station is close by. That makes a winter holiday with us very doable without using the car every day.

Do I need a car in winter?

No. From Ramosch you can easily travel by public transport towards Scuol and other places in the Unterengadin. The regional guest card is included in your stay, and with it bus and train in the region are included. A car is handy for trips further afield, but not necessary for Motta Naluns.
