FAQs about the area

The seasons

Is the lodge open all year?

In between, we enjoy a bit of peace and quiet ourselves! We’re open from late May/early June to late October and from mid-December through to the end of March. Check our website for exact, up-to-date availability.

I don’t really like crowds, so when is the best time to book?

In the summer season, September is the quietest month. January and March are the quiet, serene months in winter.

We’d like to go swimming, can we do that nearby?

Lovely! In Scuol you’ll find a fantastic public pool that’s open in summer. There are also the well-known thermal baths, with a separate sauna area for relaxing. And there are several idyllic swimming lakes nearby; just ask us, we know where to find them!

Do I need to bring my own towels for swimming or the thermal baths?

The towels in your room are for use in the lodge. If you’re going swimming in Scuol or heading to the lakes, we’d ask you to bring your own large bath towel.

Out and about

Can I get the guest card digitally before I arrive?

A guest card is included in your stay. With it you travel free by bus and train in the region. In summer the mountain railways and cable cars in Scuol and Ftan are included too, and you get discounts on various activities. You usually receive the guest card from us, after checking in. Would you like it digitally before you arrive, for example for your journey by public transport? Then email us at info@larandulina.com. For that we need the first name, surname and date of birth of every guest, plus the email address and postal address of one guest.

Can I take a packed lunch?

Yes. At breakfast you can make your own packed lunch for CHF 5 per person, with bread and fillings, fruit and a boiled egg.

We’d like to go out for a bite to eat. Do you have any good tips?

Definitely! Around our lodge you can eat very well, with plenty of variety. We can also book you a table just over the border in Italy or Austria! Just ask us for tips.

Is there a supermarket nearby?

Yes. Ramosch has a small supermarket about 5 minutes’ walk from the lodge. Handy for daily shopping and a few small purchases.

Is there a hospital nearby?

Yes. There’s a hospital in Scuol, less than 10 minutes’ drive from La Randulina.
